I missed the part about official acts.

Hey @washingtonpost.com tell us what those official acts were.

Or better yet, tell us why a change in ownership and hiring Will Lewis gives us a contradiction on what previous editorial boards wrote.

Utter hackery.
annabower.bsky.social
You’ve gotta be kidding me.

This WaPo editorial presents a misleading revisionist history of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s criminal cases against Trump.

Then it has the gall to compare that to Trump’s overt targeting of his perceived enemies.

Really embarrassing stuff.
But the mere fact that a legal tool might be available does not mean it should be used. The
current rage over Grassley's revelation shows why. Smith showed little restraint in his pursuit of a former president. He charged Trump for official acts he took as president. He sought a gag order to limit Trump's ability to criticize the prosecution. He tried to accelerate the case to try a leading presidential candidate before the 2024 election.

So…

Trump does the nickname thing in DMs to the AG.

Motherfucker is weird, man.
aldrichpatrick.bsky.social
Had the same thought about the nicknames in private DMs.

Incredibly weird.
aldrichpatrick.bsky.social
Saw this earlier.

Have also seen the ed board take potshots at Kamala Harris and at the Ds shutdown strategy.

Definitely a strange new world and I doubt that Will Lewis is getting the clicks and numbers he hoped for.

Abandoning your core audience for whatever this is was certainly bold.

I spent more than a decade at The Post. It was good to me and I was proud to work there. I’ve largely refrained from being critical since I left. But this framing of the special counsel probe is embarrassing and flatly wrong. Stunning, but not. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
Opinion | Jack Smith’s lawfare and James Comey’s arraignment on pathetically weak charges
Good people will be deterred from public service if they see a meaningful risk of winding up in jail afterward.

She always is.

Also on my list is finishing 30 Coins on HBO Max. Dug season 1 and it’s just creepy enough to make up for the silliness.

Really would’ve been better if Kavanaugh hadn’t opined on this.

That said, Kavanaugh stops are real.
aldrichpatrick.bsky.social
Trying to do the same while my wife is in Japan.

Saw both that you mentioned. Can’t say I liked either, but Bring Her Back was a better film.

Leave it to Kristi?

We’ve got a problem that the media isn’t following up on his claims by touring these cities.

Part that made me laugh the loudest was when Porter proclaimed that she shouldn’t be asked the questions other candidates have been asked because she’s a “leader.

Cut bait on her CA Dems. She’s gonna be a disaster.
epicciuto.bsky.social
People are defending this Porter interview, and, like, what. The reporter was willfully obtuse, but Porter has to handle that. She’s famous for her own tough questioning! And then to walk out saying you expected a pleasant, positive conversation is, like, Trumpy. www.thecut.com/article/kati...
Katie Porter Tried to Cut Off a CBS Interview
The former congresswoman, who’s currently running for California governor, took offense at a question about winning over Trump voters.
www.thecut.com
aldrichpatrick.bsky.social
This was not a hostile interview.

A really bad look for Porter.

Hope CA Dems have someone better.
aldrichpatrick.bsky.social
I rode the duty train to Berlin while in high school.

You were advised to avoid interaction with them for sure.
aldrichpatrick.bsky.social
Well…

We just witnessed the ascension of a fascist authoritarian as President of the United States primarily due to high prices.

But go ahead, embrace the Miller/Trump/Kerr theory of the economy.
chrislhayes.bsky.social
Basically this was the entire logic fo neoliberalism and globalization - yes lots of job destruction, but prices falling on all kinds of goods and new jobs in new areas. It was taken as gospel that all of it was a net benefit, but that's a bit harder argument to make these days.

She’s very lucky that the CA GOP is an absolute mess.
aldrichpatrick.bsky.social
Holy shit.

CA Dems need to run the hell away from Porter.
aldrichpatrick.bsky.social
Assume you meant DHS.

ICE or Border Patrol at polling places to look for non-citizen voting sounds incredibly plausible.
tedgehring.bsky.social
He’s got more than military. They will likely carefully deploy HHS, etc to specific polling locations. You’ll see targeted deployments in 2028 for sure in swing states.
aldrichpatrick.bsky.social
Wow. That has to be intentional on the part of ABC. Right?
aldrichpatrick.bsky.social
Sigh…

Clinton did not “push for gays in the military”.

DADT, even with its flaws, acknowledged patriotic service and got rid of unnecessary discharges for human behavior.

Yes, could’ve been better, but that’s certainly not the point of the Hegseth fanboy who wrote the editorial.
aldrichpatrick.bsky.social
It’s an odd thing to me that the new EIC for CBS News has no actual background in reporting.

NEW from me:

CBS News staffers literally rolled their eyes after new editor-in-chief Bari Weiss delivered a "cringey" rallying cry during today's editorial call, exclaiming: "Let's do the fucking news!"

"She's cosplaying as a broadcast journalist," one said.

I wish Bondi love the USA and all it stands for as much as she loves being a partisan hack.

DURBIN: You won't even say whether you talked to the WH about this?

BONDI: I'm not going to discuss any internal conversations with you

D: They're going to transfer TX Guard troops to the state of Illinois. What's the rationale?

B: I wish you loved Chicago as much as you hate President Trump

I think it’s great to have Miller be the face of the administration.

Keep it up. No way that normies decide that he’s a serial killer/lizard person.

Nope. He’s doing swell.

Stephen Miller: "It's simply a factually accurate statement that when a judge assumes for him- or herself the powers that have been relegated or delegated by the Constitution to the president, that that is a form of illegal insurrection." ...

Q: You called the judge's ruling 'legal insurrection.' Are you recommending the president take action against judges who rule against him?

STEPHEN MILLER: No. It's simply a factually accurate statement
