Police in Airdrie, Alberta (just north of Calgary) say this driver hit a 17-year-old girl in a marked crosswalk, got out of the vehicle, and appeared to get upset at the teenager before driving away.

They released this video and are now trying to identify the driver.

A few months ago, I approached CBC News with a pitch about crypto ATMs, which are a preferred way for fraudsters to extract money from victims. Canada has the most crypto kiosks per capita, but it lags on regulation.

Incremental AHS update: Raymond Wyant has submitted his interim report, according to govt. Deadline for final report remains Oct 15. Govt "remains committed to releasing the final report following its delivery."

If this week's consent agenda remains unchanged, the council meeting could be pretty quick. There 7 items on consent & only 2 on the main agenda. Of course, this council LOVES to pull stuff off the consent agenda then debate them to no purpose. /1 #yqrcc

citymgr: Councils of the day had to balance a lot of things, whether it was affordability, the reaction of the public, then we had COVID. I'm not defending or castigating any decisions. Those were decisions at time based one what council thought was the best way to go. #yqrcc

Most of the staff running three Alaska newspapers in Homer, Kenai-Soldotna and Juneau resigned in protest Monday.

“We cannot do our jobs knowing that pressure from an elected official can mean our stories are edited without prior consultation with us," they wrote.

This is an interesting idea but I have serious doubts that it would actually work in practice. Most things aren't that binary. Who decides what's acceptable evidence? What if the statement is accurate but taken out of context or outdated? How would this jive with the protected speech MPs have?

There is currently a petition to the House of Commons asking the government to draft legislation that would make it so MP's could not lie and spread misinformation/disinformation.

Sounds like a good idea to me 👍
