Oh - and it’s a school which might be the reason they needed so many boot scrapers!!
alexandrawoodall.bsky.social
Thank you! Wow! There are lots of them! I thought the non boot scraper ones were for some kind of internal drainage/air but obviously not.
alexandrawoodall.bsky.social
Thank you Mark. But what about the hole behind it?
alexandrawoodall.bsky.social
The hole behind the boot scraper is what I’m after… any ideas?
alexandrawoodall.bsky.social
Thank you Manny - that’s a great word! I actually meant the hole behind the boot scraper as there are lots of these around the building.

Just retweeting my earlier question as still looking for the answer - does anyone at #Museums2025 know?
alexandrawoodall.bsky.social
Are there any architects on here, or generally people who know what the feature on the bottom left of this image is. A sort of drainage archway perhaps? It’s on a Victorian former grammar school building with lots of similar holes! Many thanks.
Archway (purpose to be identified by someone) at the bottom of a building with a grate, next to steps on the outside of West Studios, Chesterfield College.

I’m currently studying there and literally was just thinking not about this, but contacting The Tribune about the vast quantities of flags on every single roundabout there - especially the one just in from the big Tesco - realise it’s not your patch but there’s a profound difference cf. Sheffield.
alexandrawoodall.bsky.social
😊 thank you! I’m sure someone out there will know!
alexandrawoodall.bsky.social
But do you know what is the hole behind it, and why are there so many around the building without the boot scraping bit?!

We always knew that Labour cares about little else other than keeping private developers happy.

But here's proof showing off to JP Morgan despite destruction of some of the "rarest creatures in our country."

Let's make that description Labour votes.

@tamsincrussell.bsky.social - this might be something for the MA to be aware of?

This is an absolute travesty - the Zooarchaeology Collections at Sheffield don’t now have adequate storage, let alone accessibility - this is such a poor decision by university management and disregards the funding already granted externally that should enable the collections to be looked after.

Lovely Ooberman Shorley Wall - very rarely played on the radio but so beautiful. I remember tracking down the EP after I first heard it on the radio about 25 (?) years ago. Thank you @bbc6music.bsky.social

And so it begins.

My prediction:

1) ‘back-office efficiencies’ (aka cull of professional services and academic-related staff inc programme admin, student support, teaching/learning support / digital learning support /libraries / professional development etc)

That BBC report on asylum housing was absolutely shameful and has potential to incite even more racism. Disgusting.

This whole test should have been far better organised to ensure that those people who need to have secret phones, such as domestic abuse victims, have been far better informed about how to prevent the alerts.
It's been primarily left to charities to raise that awareness.
