Over the last week I have had two kitchen fitters, an electrician and a plumber in the flat doing various jobs, and looking round the place, and considering my energy levels, I’m very pleased to say that I think I’ll have the place back in order at some point in about 2027.

This is not what most people working in HE mean when we talk about student number controls. The controls that are needed are not about overall capping and limiting opportunity, but about effective distribution to ensure a healthy, vibrant university sector.
