Today is a great day for workers. With Bill C-247, the NDP is standing up for the right to strike and bargain freely - rights generations of workers fought for.

It’s time Ottawa remembered who keeps this country running. It’s time for workers to have a voice in Ottawa.

I fear if things don’t change right now, this image is going to come back to haunt us

A federal agent points a weapon at a woman who was recording them.

Police in Airdrie, Alberta (just north of Calgary) say this driver hit a 17-year-old girl in a marked crosswalk, got out of the vehicle, and appeared to get upset at the teenager before driving away.

They released this video and are now trying to identify the driver.

Declining literacy rates aren’t a new issue for B.C. — or Canada.

Standardized test results have been on a downward swing countrywide for over 20 years. What’s the fix?

I do this all the time now, too. It's a reflex where I don't need to even think about doing it.

I feel morally correct doing this.

Here's what the chamber looked like during the Yay vote (in support of Arora's motion to condemn ARPA's views

Conservative side was empty (the head you can see in the foreground on the right is Green house leader Rob Botterell)

The chairs on the opposition side of the house, where the Conservative caucus would sit, are mostly empty

Trump dodged the Vietnam draft and made a disastrous deal with the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The image is an X post by Aaron Rupar (@atrupar
) on X.com, quoting Trump: "The problem with Vietnam, we, you know, we stopped fighting to win. We would've won easy. We would've won Afghanistan easy. We would've won every war easy. But we got politically correct. 'Oh, let's take it easy.' We're not politically correct anymore, just so you understand." The post includes a photo of Trump speaking to an audience in Navy uniforms.

JOIN ME tomorrow @ Rally for #Public #Education in #Canmore from 11 am - 2 pm.

My @albertandp.ca colleagues & I will continue to push for this government to treat #teachers w/ respect + properly invest in our classrooms.

📞📩STAY LOUD Alberta! Call & Email the premier, Ed Minister + CC your MLA!
JOIN ME tomorrow at the Rally for Public Education in Canmore from 11 am - 2 pm - Albertans are continuing to stand with teachers and stand up for the public education our kids deserve!
Leading up to today's first day of a Teachers' Strike, I heard from a lot of constituents concerned about a what a strike will mean for their families. Yesterday on World Teachers Day, 10s of 1000s of Albertans attended public rallies in Edmonton & Calgary, forming a massive sea of #RedforEd that was unlike anything I have ever seen before!
The UCP should not be surprised by this, after years of failing to properly plan for this contract negotiation. The UCP government is now spending a lot of time (and our money) on a media campaign trying to explain to us why they won’t invest more in education for our kids. My colleagues and I are calling on the Alberta government to invest properly in Education, "They need to come back to the table to negotiate in good faith and offer a deal that works to ensure Alberta teachers are valued and treated fairly" said Amanda Chapman, Shadow Minister for Education.
Continue to raise your voice on this issue. We will continue to push for the government to come back to the table, treat teachers with respect, and properly invest in Alberta’s classrooms.
