This success follows 15 years of breeding & reintroduction work by Cambridge University Botanic Garden, Plantlife and Royal Botanic Gardens Kew.
The fen orchid needs good reedy wetlands where specific species of moss & fungi also grow. It declined due to habitat loss, mainly through fen drainage.

A rare wild fen orchid has been brought back from the brink of national extinction. Liparis loeselii is off Britain’s Red List.
