Sorry, I don’t believe for a moment that they’ve captured Emma Goldman’s girlfriend.

They’ll do to Nintendo what they did to Netflix! Which is nothing.

She’s made it pretty clear she intends to make her misery everybody’s problem.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
It’s pretty silly. I can understand legislation that says you *must* clarify that it is a vege/vegan substitute so people know what they’re getting without going to the ingredients but if that’s made clear… what’s the problem?

I think how we spend money on the military needs serious review anyway. A lot of what we’re spending money on in an era of drones is the equivalent of keeping the cavalry ready in world war 1.

That’s a whole other conversation, though.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
If that’s the case that is a very silly commitment from the SNP.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
This is delusional. Labour have been all about the culture war distractions (immigration, gender critical nonsense, ‘Britishness’) and you can ask any trans person in the UK how much they feel their rights have been protected.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
Or tax increases on the wealthy and big business. The UK’s income tax rate is around the EU average for high earners but nowhere near the top. Equally we’d probably spend less on military spending (as small countries tend to).
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
It is entirely at Labour’s door that they responded to the Supreme Court‘s ruling and the EHRC’s subsequent, ridiculous guidance with supine acceptance and especially at her door as minster for equality.

If you don’t think this govt has made life worse for trans people you’re kidding yourselves.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
It is not. It is not protecting trans people’s rights at all. I was recently in a harrowing education committee meeting where we heard about trans children refusing to eat or drink in schools for fear of having to use the toilet that doesn’t match their gender identity.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
Human rights are not up for debate. Plus there is a difference between parties and society at large - of course political parties can draw ideological lines in the sand.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
Can you explain why it would be vastly more expensive for Scotland to do it than any of the other numerous small nations that joined?
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
Kind of assumed you named yourself after the deity tbh.

So you don’t care about her transphobia?
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
When I was at youth theatre we went for a script reading at the directors house. I went to jump dramatically across the threshold in and smacked my face right into her closed, but incredibly clean, glass patio door.

So you’re not alone.

Whenever you write ‘Bluesky coo’ I keep wondering why Bluesky even has a cow.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
I *think* it’s because they want to be on every format and video formats (such as YouTube) have algorithms that favour moving images rather than just a placeholder image and sound.

That said, I got into Behind the Bastards on YouTube before they pivoted to video.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
And editing etc. she just doesn’t have a clue. She thinks she represents the ‘real world’ but hasn’t been a part of it for some time, if she ever was.

Ultimately every degree has some vocational element - philosophy, often maligned as the most navel-gazing of subjects, is sought out by organisations that specialise in problem-solving.

Of the list, performing arts is the most obviously, directly vocational though.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
Another classic from the leader who never gaffs.

(Also, performing arts is a vocational degree but I guess that because it gives people joy it still counts as ‘too woke’.)

Who could have predicted that?

When this doesn’t even cause a fluctuation in Netflix membership trends, can we finally accept that anti-trans ideology is the obsession of a few and then can the government stop desperately pandering to them like they speak for millions?

Elon Musk leads calls to ‘Cancel Netflix’ after accusing streaming service of promoting ‘trans ideology’

Libs of Tiktok, Elon Musk, and Robbie Starbuck put everything they had into trying to push a boycott of Netflix over LGBTQ characters in their shows.

Netflix ignored them and the stock is back up. Turns out bots don't actually cancel accounts.
