I’m very disappointed that for now the option of a rail route has been closed off by the Scottish Government. Over many years improvements to bus services have failed to deliver the connectivity the town needs, the case for re-opening the station remains but it will need a government that is

Public consultations have shown overwhelming local support for expanding these zones and they are already helping to reduce harm and anxiety for animals and vulnerable people alike.

Potholes need sorting! One thing we can all agree on.

Did you know that they are just one of over 800 services councils are responsible for?

Councils touch every part of our lives!

We need your experience to help create a better future.

What was Claire up to last week in (and around) council?

I say this from the bottom of my heart:

Stop threatening council tax freezes and actually reform council tax like you promised to do in 2007.

Shona Robison has called on opposition MSPs not to "draw out the drama" of this year's budget, delayed by the UK government, warning councils could struggled to balance the books.
She also gave her biggest hint yet about the possibility of a council tax freeze.

Robison warns not to 'draw out drama' of delayed budget and makes council tax hint
The Finance Secretary insisted she will not be “randomly taking an axe to services” as she came under pressure to offer more cash to under-pressure colleges.

Children are dying in Gaza right now, but in The Scottish Parliament, there is a meeting of Tories, Independents, Labour and Lib Dem MSPs for the 'Building Bridges with Israel' cross-party group.

Israel is committing a genocide, we shouldn't be building bridges with them.
An image of baby socks, pegs hold them onto a line with names of Gazan children murdered in the genocide. An image from behind the speaker at the Mothers against genocide rally. It shows the crowd and Palestine flags. A woman holds a placard which reads "we demand accountability", there is an image of Starmer shaking Trump's hand. This month the Scottish Parliament backed Green calls for boycotts, divestment and sanctions against Israel and companies complicit in the genocide and occupation.

Now it's time to put those words into action at all levels of government.
The National. Edinburgh becomes first city in Scotland to boycott Israel. Councillors voted in favour of a Green motion which moves the capital closer to implementing Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel.

Absolutely loved this conversation with Kristen Ghodsee and Cllr Alys Mumford about being both a feminist and a socialist, and about some of the incredible women who have inspired us from around the world.

Thanks so much to the @edinburghgreens.bsky.social for organising 💚

Lots of folk at the Eric Liddell Centre contributing their ideas for the Astley Ainslie as part of the local place plan development 🗺️📍

What’s on my list? More space for nature, co-operative / co-housing development, accessibility at the forefront and (of course!) protecting the trees 🌳
A busy room of people talking / wandering around. There is a map on the floor and posters on the wall with post it notes where people are sharing their ideas.

I’m pleased to be proposing this motion today 🇵🇸

The Scottish Government took a big step forward in supporting BDS calls from Green MSPs, but now they must do the same for Councils ⚖️

New powers need to be granted to local authorities or else the government position is just warm words ❌ 💬 🤷

The EHRC has now submitted their draft Code of Practice to the UK Government & it could have a devastating impact on trans lives in the UK.

Please write to your MP, supporting our call for full scrutiny & meaningful debate on the Code.
