No cherry-picking. No party filter. Just receipts.

And a lot of powerful men are terrified right now.

KASIE HUNT: “Do you have pictures of people engaged in sexual acts as part of this?”

REP. SUBRAMANYAM: “Yes, there are people engaged in sexual acts.”

A lot of right wing women are cited as heirs to Phyllis Schlafly, and in my opinion it’s often not a good fit. But Kirk has that uncanny quality that drove so much of Schlafly’s power and effectiveness: a depthless rage.

U.S. military spending is set to hit a record $1 trillion.

Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed seven straight audits.

This is the military industrial complex on steroids.

Everyday Americans get nickel and dimed while the rich dodge taxes.

They struggle to get by while the wealth of the 1% skyrockets.

They see their voices drowned out while the well-connected avoid accountability.

There are two sets of rules in America: One for the rich. Another for everyone else.

Remember: The recipe for economic growth isn’t tax cuts for the rich. It’s investment in our people — in health care, infrastructure and education — to build a strong middle class.

You don't grow the economy through trickle-down nonsense.

Trump: He has photos with everybody. Hundreds and hundreds of people that have photos with him, that's no big deal, I know nothing about it.

Someone hire this young and excellent journalist, who interviewed me last summer about concentration camps for his Texas newspaper. He's won accolades from Scripps Howard, NY Press Club, ONA, NLGJA, and the Society of American Baseball, not to mention a shoutout from Best American Sportswriting.
Friday news dump? I was recently laid off by McClatchy/Fort Worth Star-Telegram. I loved expanding into politics/policy reporting, and pursuing stories about communities underserved by their local paper.

To give you a sense of how big a departure this year, the government doesn't do this for wanted criminals.
SCOOP: The Trump administration is providing the names of all travelers passing through U.S. airports to immigration officials in search of people with deportation orders, a substantial expansion of government efforts to draw on data to hunt down immigrants.

I think it's important for people who want to abolish the police to understand that the impact of crimes are in fact bad. Like, the thing is people on this site have much more experience with car accidents than shootings (my guess). Being a shooting victim (police or otherwise) is very very bad.
