Oh no, it didn't go through because... what? This is not fantastic English but it does give us a clue as to why, when it mentions 10000lkr - Sri Lankan rupees. At this point, the chat also asks what currency it's in, so we'll answer them

And here's the scam part - it wants your credit card details! Using credit cards for genuine age verification processes is quite common, and really shouldn't be for this exact reason - it's easy to spoof.

Here's a fun little message I got on Bluesky. Obviously a scam, but let's (safely) have a little play with it.
First thing of note is that it went into the 'chat requests' part of my DMs. That alone wasn't enough to stave off the momentary "oh crap", but looking at the message, I knew.
