Alice came out to her best friend, Lucy when she was sixteen, to her sister, Kate a few months later. She didn’t come out to me. Why not? Probably because I’d absorbed media transphobia 1/10

I am so sorry it was like this for you and your partner. The NHS does not generally do death well at all. You both deserved better.

I am writing an afterword for the paperback of Her Name Is Alice which comes out in March. I have a 3000 word limit and I'm writing a first draft and I'm already at 9k and have barely started! It must be so frustrating trying to find an agent. I was incredibly lucky.

Thanks Cal. If I'm going to include these details in my afterword I'll need references as Harper Collins legal team will scrutinise every claim. Can you find them easily? Don't worry if not. I'm very restricted on word count and have no idea how I am going to squeeze in everything I want to say.

Has anyone made this FOI request of the south-west and the London CYP Gender services?

This post ⬇️relates to the north-west service, where not one young person has been offered medical transition since the service was opened over a year ago.

This isn't treatment. It's state sanctioned conversion.

#UK #TransRights An FOI has just confirmed what all of us have feared: for the Youth gender services, since July 2024, not a single patient has been referred to commence HRT. And 22 have been moved from youth to adult services , also without treatment. This is scandalous.

Broken hearted is a term I try to avoid. It wound me up so much when people told me they were heartbroken over Alice. A voice screamed in my head, no you're not, even my heart's still beating, stfu...you never cared about her when she was alive, stop the bullshit, why are you saying this to me?!

Thanks. It wasn’t all plain sailing. I encountered GC sentiment both outside conference, Greens in Exile and the Green Women’s Declaration and inside, from one individual who tried to join my table for the quiz. This was handled beautifully by an established party member to whom I am very grateful.

I joined the Greens in June. Conference last weekend felt like a kind of homecoming. I’ve been adrift these last few years, mourning Alice, despairing at a ruling class that seems intents on heaping misery on all minorities. In the depths of grief hope wasn’t enough, but now it breaths life into me.

US news. A judge who ruled against Trump has been doxxed and receiving death threats. Now members of her family have been seriously injured escaping from this huge blast at her home. It’s being investigated as a possible arson attack.

I’ve erased most of it from my memory bank. It was along the lines of me being a Transhausen mummy, a groomer, responsible for Alice’s death ‘cos I affirmed her instead of seeking psychiatric help and so on. Told with utter conviction,as if they were there! And all told with the words he/son obvs.

I hope you can keep them David. I was so proud to work in the NHS and rather ashamed when I left to raise my family under easier circumstances. Now I think the shame belongs to the powers that have run our NHS into the ground and devalued and demoralised the work force year upon year.

Lots of great suggestions. Given the Green Party's commitment to reducing the waitlist for gender affirming care by supporting GPs to work within an informed consent system in primary care, I'd recommend the incredible Dr Sophie Quinney, lead clinician in the Welsh gender identity services.

Thanks. I am getting better day by day. But it's time that's the key. My financial solvency has given me that time. The panic attacks and emotional implosions are much less frequent and intense these days, but when they come they're very debilitating. And day to day low-level stuff takes its toll.

whilst those without are considered feckless losers who made their bed out of stupidity and laziness, combined with a Machiavellian desire to play the system. These ‘winners’ in life lack empathy, fail to understand their privilege and would do well to reflect: ‘there but for the grace of god go I.’

It’s not hard to understand that adding financial strain to people already struggling will cause harm.
Deep trauma and anxiety is not a fecking lifestyle choice. Shame on anyone who calls it such.Those with wealth and success always think they got there entirely down to their own efforts

I’d like to work but I’ve no idea where I fit which adds to my anxiety about job hunting. But I’m very fortunate in many ways and I’m not claiming benefits because I’ve savings released from selling a large house and buying a smaller one. If I didn’t have this safety net I’d be in a tight spot.

I can give a speech in front of thousands at Trans Pride but encountering two GCs outside the Green Party conference on Friday left me so anxious I nearly went straight home without registering and was moved to tears all day. If i’d been at my placement I’d have been sent home.
