the symbolism of “Trump destroying the White House for a overpriced luxury vanity project, during a government shut down, days after a historically-large mass demonstration against his regime called “No Kings”’ would be rightly viewed as laying it on a little thick if it was in a work of fiction

Florida disappointed, but didn’t surprise me. Wisconsin came in clutch. Mr Booker made us all proud. Then today… today… I don’t feel so alone. This has been a wild wild week.

Important things happening in WI and FL this week among other places in the US. Don’t let the Musk/Trump show distract or discourage you. If he is still spending money, that means we can still win. FDT

My daily reminder to myself that I don’t need to buy anything on Amazon, from Target, Walmart, or really any big stores. I have plenty of stuff already. And if I really need it I can get it from a local supplier or buy it used.

Today I am going to commit to a set of plans for my chicken palace so I can start stockpiling supplies to build it. And I am going to call my parents and be nice to them. Even though they are part of the reason I am dying inside. FDT

Hey, does everyone remember when republicans were BIG MAD about Hilary having some confidential emails on a non secure device? Chants of “lock her up” ring in my mind. It’s almost like it was never about security. 😞

Today my small resistance was reaching out to family. My sister is the best and I don’t appreciate her enough. So I will do that more.

Today’s effort to not lose my mind… home garden is getting revved back up for the summer. Kale is sprouted as are the cold weather lettuces. Started peppers and tomatoes in larger quantities than usual this year so I can help friends and neighbors. FDT🤨

Today I continue my quiet personal efforts. I will not shop Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, or Target. Local merchants get my business (unless they have been outrageous in their political shitfuckery). I am grateful to be in a position to make these decisions. Many are not.

Democracy doesn’t mean whoever wins a slight plurality in the national vote gets to rewrite every American institution to satisfy their own whims. The president is not an elected king. If we let him become one, the project of American democracy is over.
