Trump’s top foreign policy goal is lying to the American people, so the main US demand in trade negotiations is to say there’s a deal and give him something to tout (such as “we’ll invest billions in America”). You don’t have to actually deliver it.

Trump is absolute crap at making deals. He thinks he's good because he make so many of them. But it's easy to make deals when you (a) provoke an unnecessary fight; and then (b) fold on all the important stuff. But he's rich so he'll never fell the consequences of his blundering.
The United States is in a weaker position today vis a vis trade with China than it was at this time last year.
Weaker in other ways too, but one glaring area is trade. Among the ways America: China got more access to high level American chips, while the US got less access to Chinese rare earths.

Let me say what the President won't: Domestic violence is not okay. It's immoral, illegal and abusive, and no real man is okay would do it, approve of it, or minimize it.
