Hello everyone! Happy to be here. A bit about me:
I am left wing in all my politics: I will speak up about causes I think are important - we cannot afford to be apolitical in these mad times. But I also love writing, reading, F1, hockey, dogs in jackets & cats being snarky to their servants.

I was at Sprüngli in Zurich this morning for a hot chocolate. A dark skinned woman came in and asked for a table. She was told to wait. A white lady came in just after and was seated immediately. And honestly, the hot chocolate wasn't even that good. Definitely taking my money elsewhere from now on

Sadly racial profiling is alive and well in Zurich as well.

I had read that if someone at a store like Sephora gives you a basket it's profiling. I thought it was just a US thing but I just went into Claire's in Zurich & the woman accosted me with a basket. She followed me around & didn't stop until I left. There were many others in the store, all ignored.

Ziyad's account was deleted, so i'm sharing for him.

i made a poster featuring his 2 youngest daughters, Dima and Jana. i'm planning to share it around my little town, at libraries and local shops. if you want, please use it too! we gotta keep them healthy and fed. ❤️

🆕 tinyurl.com/ziyadfamily 🆕
A black and white poster featuring two little girls drawn in a cartoon style. Dima, on the left, is illustrated in a polka dress, holding a peace sign. Jana, the taller girl on the right, is wearing an oversized sweater with a daisy on the chest. There is a QR code in the top left corner, with the url "tinyurl.com/ziyadfamily" at the top. On the right, it reads "HELP Dima and Jana Leave Gaza: Dima and Jana live in Gaza City with their dad, Ziyad, and their 7 older siblings. They are 7 and 9, and want to go back to school. They miss their mom, who is waiting for them in Cairo, Egypt. Their family needs our help to leave Gaza. Keeping their family alive is a big group project. Please share their campaign with your friends and family who may wish to help!"

Why do countries keep saying they will wait until September to recognise Palestinian statehood? Are they waiting for the Palestinians to all be dead first, so they don't have to, all while looking like they tried to react? Either way politicians, we see you. We will remember.

I just learned about this today after using the terms Gazan & Palestinian interchangeably when discussing Gaza specifically.

Someone kindly educated me, & now they have educated you too.

I initially got defensive & almost missed out on learning something really important.

It’s important to call them Palestinians because they were moved to Gaza and not willingly. The media and Israel will call them that to discredit who they are and where they’re actually from.

I saw your last post and I’m not attacking you but gently nudging you.
