Transparent labeling is EXTREMELY vital. It is imperative for food allergy sufferers to know EXACTLY what is in our food.
A tick bite can trigger alpha-gal syndrome--a life-threatening allergy to meat.
“Alpha-gal is pervasive in our foods in the form of lard, gelatin, and obscurely-named additives such as glycerin, pepsin, or rennet....Transparent labeling is vital."

Alpha-gal, or galactose-alpha-1,3-galactose, is a sugar found in most mammals but not in humans or primates.
Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) is an allergic reaction triggered by a tick bite that carries this sugar, causing the body to react negatively and leading to allergy symptoms.
