I chose the previous Secretary of DHS as my contemporary #AltCitizen. He is an immigrant, brought to the US as a small child. He is a decent human being, well-respected, and kind, and his farewell address in January brought us to tears. Wish you were still S-1, Alejandro.

Raoul Wallenberg was a Swedish diplomat in Budapest, Hungary in WWII. Between July '44 & January '45, he saved 1000s of Hungarian Jews by issuing protective passports, or hiding them in buildings he'd declared Swedish territory. He was recognized as Righteous Among the Nations in 1963. #AltCitizen
