Has sword, will travel. They/them.
And this clock is, like, famously loud. It is the “I can hear it over the phone,” “I can’t sleep on the same floor as” clock. I can hear it upstairs in the still of the nice.

And *no one* in the house noticed it had stopped. You JUST DON’T HEAR IT.

Sounds like you’re doing the right things. Just be steady for her, and kind, and be there with comfort because it’s a shitshow right now.

A supportive home environment is the most precious thing for trans youth. (Also, huge hugs to you both.)

Good morning Womble! I’m reading ‘A Memory Called Empire’ by Arkady Martine. It’s good, and surprisingly tender (so far), but *dense*.

Not in a bad way, necessarily, but there’s so much going on.

Ohhh, how lovely? And… that can be the problem with pure alpaca - the fibres are so short? But so soft!
January 17, 2026 at 10:10 PM
It’s very soft - it’s an alpaca/wool blend?

And thank you!

It doesn’t look much 😂
January 17, 2026 at 12:03 PM
I shall see how we go!
January 16, 2026 at 11:29 PM
I cannot make socks. (I have tried. And likely shall again, but 😬)

But I’m thinking hand warmers?
January 16, 2026 at 11:16 PM
I’m good, thanks! (But I should have at least something left from this hat to cover any shortfall, and the colour is similar.)
January 16, 2026 at 11:15 PM
Those are so cute??
January 16, 2026 at 11:14 PM
All the bloody yardage is in Norwegian. (Or, it’s not, but it’s fairly obscure.) I think it’s about 100m? So I might be able to get wrist warmers!
January 16, 2026 at 10:39 PM
I might have a little when I’ve finished this hat…
January 16, 2026 at 10:26 PM
Thank you, yes, I think this one might do it!
January 16, 2026 at 10:19 PM
Yeah, it’s DK. I was wondering if I had enough for wrist warmers - but the pattern I said called for 100g.

Apparently it’s about 100m?
January 16, 2026 at 10:17 PM
Hmmm. I probably could, although I sort of wonder what I’d do with it afterwards? (I’ve also got… 20g? of beautiful cashmere which… god knows.)
January 16, 2026 at 10:16 PM
We can get through this. It will just take work, and working together.
January 16, 2026 at 12:58 PM
And that nature, and human science, and human cooperation have made it so that on a hard, cold, January day in a frost hollow, in Scotland, I can have the promise of brilliant yellow flowers.
January 16, 2026 at 12:58 PM
… and the hellebore is just waiting for its moment, y’know?

If I believe in anything, it’s that. That the desert lilies tide you over until the winter jasmine flowers and the winter jasmine holds the door for the hellebore and the snowdrops.
