Here we describe 3 vaccines (HPV, DPT, COVID) where infertility was used to drive fear & reduce uptake. Campaigns to promote any future vaccine should plan on this tactic. Open access, please share!

There's nothing quite like going through Illumina results and seeing tons of familiar viral families/genera and some new things too! Badnaviruses, curtoviruses, alexiviruses, tospoviruses, rhabdoviruses, closteroviruses, ilarviruses, poleroviruses, ?viruses, etc. Now to complete genomes and publish😆

Agreed. However, the bigger finding is that they don't see effect from non-XBB.1.5 boosters, even in groups that have received several.

The study clearly shows that (a) we need to keep updating boosters, and (b) we need to get them.

The study, emphatically, does not show that vaccines don't work.
macroliter.bsky.social
Exactly.. the study can’t find any significant difference between “got boosted a year ago” vs “unvaccinated” because there’s baseline widespread immunity from prior infection. If thousands of March 2020 Covid-naive folk walked out of a time capsule today, around 1 out of 200 would die from JN.1
enirenberg.bsky.social
The findings also note however that no protection was found for those who did not take the booster but may have taken older vaccines. So, is that it? Have the newest subvariants outflanked our immune systems completely?

No.
