I took a walk in the woods today. Pretty chuffed with these photos.

A few more shots from yesterday’s outing to see the site of Mercy Brown’s “vampire” exhumation ritual in 1892.
A gravestone marked with the name, birth date, and death date for Mercy Brown. The stone outbuilding used to store Mercy’s body after her death in January of 1892, and where the ritual exhumation of her remains most likely took place two months later. It was a long road to travel, but the view was more than worth it.

I’ve been broken down on a narrow English road far from civilization for over 3 hours now. Flat tire, busy night for recovery/service providers, etc. It’s been fine, we’re fine…but it’s dark now, and I’m still waiting for the tire guy, and I’d just like to go to bed.

My view.

The stone circles of Avebury aren’t as famous as Stonehenge, but they are an incredible thing to experience if you ever get the chance. Today was my third visit in nearly 20 years, and I’ll happily go back in the future.
