Why?

Lucy is a strong, independent woman with loads of experience. She will devote her full attention to the job. She will listen to the members & not be afraid to voice their views to the PM & Cabinet.
She is what the Party needs.
And, unlike Phillipson, she didn't indulge in negative campaigning.

Brilliant. It taught me how to think and how to read properly rather than skim.
It made me want to learn more.
All of which is what university should teach you.
Added to that I had a tremendous social life and made lifelong friends one of whom I married.

It's not 'our' media, that's why.
Print media serves its owners as do the commercial TV companies.
We should be able to rely on Public Service Broadcasting, but management at the BBC is full of people with strong ties to the Tories.
OffCom should be sorting this out, but it is supine, possibly dead

Instead they spread lies on the Budget/MPs/anything to discredit Labour

Somehow I don't think Badenoch believes one should go to university to expand one's mind.
It is quite obvious that learning is a concept that has passed her by.
People like her get 'qualifications'.

I don't know about Handsworth, but he should look around his manor house in beautiful white Hereford.

Presumably they didn't study English, themselves.
I'm aware that degrees differ from university to university.
My course included compulsory Anglo Saxon, Middle English, Shakespeare; optional Metaphysical Poetry,
the novel & linguistics.
Also required subs in Latin & French.
Some rip-off!
