Exactly. Everyone knows not to do sensitive business over text. Not that I’ve ever done national security work- but I would have known better. Total incompetence.
The fact that the head of the CIA, DNI, NSA and VPOTUS were all on this chat thread and never interjected to say "Team, WTF are you doing? This is not a secure channel and these conversations do not happen here. Do I make myself clear?" is a damning indictment of their fitness for service.

Unfortunately we all know that no one involved with this classified Signal group chat is going to face any consequences. When incompetence is the default, why would there be any expectation of accountability?

Anyone else feel the need to create an analog or local-stored copies of queer resources & records of what is being done to erase transgender people from public life? All this is moving so fast much harm is being done. It feels like there needs to be a record that can’t be erased with a few clicks.

This is true and at the same time the sad thing is is that we know that while transgender people wait for equity and kind treatment that is the norm and not the exception- that intolerance, bigotry, and hate will lead to deaths, loss of jobs, stigma, etc…
If any fellow trans people following me want some reassurance regarding the future, I'd like to point out how much this current moment feels like the backlash to states beginning to support gay marriage under Clinton and Bush

I think that there are a lot of people who have been mistreated at work by coworkers- even just on that level and not even the trans rights level- that don’t like the idea of people being bullied in the office.

The people around him seem much more organized this time around. If he actually does this- it’ll be horrific for prices and middle and low socioeconomic classes will fill it the most because they have the least amount of budget. You can only pinch pennies so far.

I’m seeing a lot of this sentiment- trying to do more locally to help out communities. I’m looking at a local org. myself (not on the bird because I haven’t been active with them) but directly helping my community feels really important right now.
I’m applying to join the board of an important org and I’m proud of myself because I normally don’t like doing things but I have to get more involved locally so that’s what I’m going to do.

A good read- but aside from the analysis- they didn’t need to go to Mar-a-lago to try to patch things up. They’ve spent years lambasting Donald Trump and holding the meeting smacks of opportunism. I used to subscribe to television largely to watch their show in the morning. No more of that.
