Two separate days of reading Human Acts in the park with my lunch. Not to make light of the book in any way, but it is not ideal meal time reading… had to put my food down for a minute after some of the descriptions. Truly harrowing and very intense (but stunningly written throughout)

My film of the week this week was Asteroid City! It’s been a while since I last saw a Wes Anderson (but Grand Budapest Hotel was my favourite film for several years when it was released), and it was a fun watch. Reminded me of The Life Aquatic — fun, whimsical, colourful, with passion at heart.
