The world is busy watching the big dumpster fires but it’s the small ones around that will become the catastrophe for the individual. Reach out to your community helpers and find ways to support them, lend a hand if you can’t give a dollar. Strengthen and broaden your community to survive the storm.

Yes. And translators, badly paid, have been trying to make people aware of this, but they have only a small platform. Need writers and readers to be aware and speak out.

All my foreign language contracts going forward will stipulate that a real person translates.

I have a weird question for the #bird people on here. Do you think someone could tell that a book was pooped on specifically by a sparrowhawk (or perhaps hawks generally) just from the feces? I'm looking at a 16th c. case where witnesses claim books were pooped on specifically by sparrowhawks!

Day seventeen of #ArtAdventCalendar

Tonight I’m sharing this painted stone of the Seven Whistlers. Years ago, when people heard the Whistlers flying at night, they thought of it as a bad omen. Sailers would refuse to sail the next day, and miners would avoid the mines.
The Seven Whistlers, here portrayed as a flock of seven curlews flying together on the night of a full moon. They fly from right to left, above a silver loch and a little cottage on the shore.

"Windchime." Or maybe "mobile"? LOL. Three Norman Thelwell-style ponies. Constructed from 16-guage flat steel. Cut with a plasma torch; finished with rust finish and silver, rub-on paint. Strung together with bailing wire, accented with stone and metal beads and a tin bell.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.

I am about 5 km driving, maybe 3 km as the crow flies from the stadium and can hear way too much of that concert…I cannot imagine how loud and irritating it must be for those on the immediate neighbourhood. #yeg
