Frodo was so balanced on the knife's edge. Any "stronger" and he would have been overwhelmed by the ring too soon. Any "weaker" and he wouldn't have made it through the trials of the journey.

And he persists through it all, and even as his resolve finally fails at the literal last moment, the fact that he got it that far allows fate to take it the final step.

I swear if all you had from the entire series was the first book up to the Flight to the Ford, you'd still have a brilliant adventure

That moment where Frodo sees the arm creeping around the corner toward Sam is so vivid to me

That was such a great role for her! A brittle character absolutely convinced of her own greatness

All those great roles with Christopher Guest's entourage.

15 years since you went public. You’ve posted photos from your youth, and I believe Farts Johnson was part of you all along

The thing about having John Rambo in First Blood be a Vietnam vet is that the audience immediately knows what that means: guy has seen some shit, And has a hard time re-adjusting after coming home. Many such cases! You don’t have to spell it out.

Just reading the blurb here, I suspect the prequel also renders First Blood meaningless.
