It's a proud white Californian tradition to pronounce Spanish names in a maximally Anglo way, no?

In LA you could tell a recent arrival if they didn't know "Los Feliz" was pronounced "Loss Feelus"

Using recruit violations to knock down a coach's buyout has become a standard practice. If Belichick cannot find a landing spot to trigger his own buyout, he’s expected to accept a greatly reduced, compromised rate

Recruited them to choose UNC over other colleges to play football only to ensure them a disastrous year on the field and probably no progress as players
ambivalentricky.bsky.social
UNC's GOP political appointee trustees went around the athletic department and rest of the university system to hire Belichick. Now everyone else at UNC is paying the price to the tune of $50 million + weekly humiliation.

unc: objectively dumber than the falcons

The most stunning thing about Belichick's career collapsing and his reputation for anyone under 25 being recast as "horny old dude flaming out in six weeks at North Carolina" is that the football team that made the best decision to keep itself clean throughout this saga was the Atlanta Falcons

Press conference for Prof. Dwayne Dixon's return to classes. Dixon, NC AAUP, AAUP UNC Chapel Hill, NC ACLU, and TranspaUNCy all delivered stinging criticisms of UNC Chancellor Lee Roberts and ringing affirmations of our Constitutional rights and academic freedom. When we fight, we win. @aaup.org

I'm sure no alarms will go off when a guy who looks like this shows up at the community garden trying to recruit people to burn down a Tesla dealership

Hard to argue with most of this, especially making $30M from turning one video into a movie, but I think this might in some ways be the opposite of a cash grab: she was high on life, thought "I'll make a fun pop album with Max Martin," and when it was done she loved it because she has bad taste.

“We don’t have to approach and criticize this album as art, because it isn’t art. The Life of a Showgirl is made of Shein quality rip-offs of other people’s songs that are constructed shoddily and sold in ginormous quantities. Art takes time and care. This is profit. It’s content.”

The packages arrived square and thin and carefully wrapped on Saturday afternoon. There were three of them, but only one was mine. If I could have rejected my package, sent it back from whence it came...

I know these dangerous racist ideas need to be viewed with the utmost seriousness but the idea of "Heritage Americans" throwing down the gauntlet is crazy to me when 30 million Americans have Irish ancestry. They really want it with the micks and teagues huh

right after I turned 21 I went through a whole series of phases of third-tier sugary mixed drinks: white Russians, mudslides, Tom Collinses, various drinks with Southern Comfort in them. Getting a stomachache thinking about it. I think it just felt cool to know all the ingredients of a drink

Cant rule it out, because I don't know anything about his exes, but the previous line is about how she's been trying really hard to seem cool. Then she says "but I'm not a bad bitch" which fits with a long line of lyrics about "well gosh I guess I'm not cool enough I'm just too earnest"

The primary meat I still eat is chicken and I console myself with the fact that chickens appear to be dumb as rocks. Especially roosters, though we don't eat those.
