really important to emphasize as much as possible that there was no great popular mandate for trump. these results were as close to an even split as possible.

So I wrote a novel, about the moment when you come out and realize people MUCH younger than you who've been out for longer are kinda sorta your elders. And you can learn from them. And they will be EXTREMELY ANNOYED by this.

People have told me it's FUNNY and LOVELY. And now it has a cover! 🧵

Let's just get one thing straight. Every time Nancy Mace mentions a specific trans person's penis, it's sexual harassment.

Coming in here again to brag on my wife: this is an essay on THE NASTY GIRL (1990, dir. Michael Verhoeven) and it's really great:

I feel disappointed that the point of the transphobes in the House was conceded so quickly and I would have appreciated a fight on some level by McBride and the Democrats.

However…
I wish Sarah McBride (or, more accurately, the actual leadership of the party she belongs to) had fought back against Republicans cruelly targeting her directly and catching every other trans person there in the crossfire. But I might have done the same? Going to think out loud, so pls ignore me.

I think Sarah McBride’s statement is a misstep but also it’s more telling to me that party leadership didn’t push back after this turned from a very clear political stunt to an actual threat to staffers’ wellbeing’s.

Important note for reporters covering the GOP's effort to ban trans women from bathrooms on Capitol Hill: while Sarah McBride and Nancy Mace both have private bathrooms in their offices, the trans people who are not elected officials who have to work there every day do not.

Doing this on Trans Day of Remembrance and filing a bill to subject trans people to violence intentionally is just really getting to me.
So Nancy Mace is now going after trans people's right to use the bathroom on any federal property. Seems like this is something people should forcibly denounce.

Trans day of remembrance. Don't just focus on those trans people who have been murdered by strangers in public. Also remember the trans people who were denied healthcare, allowed to die in prison, encouraged to kill themselves by their loved ones, buried under the wrong name by their families.
