MUST-WATCH: This is the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil from the perspective of his wife, who is 8 months pregnant.

This is federal agents in plain clothes dragging a man from his home as punishment for his speech.

I never needed a cobbler in my whole damn life and in the last month I've availed myself of cobbler services four times for two different pairs of shoes in two different countries. What is happening to me? Does this mean my hott gurl summer era is over?? What era is cobbler era???

In light of everything happening, I wrote about how the KKK in the 1920s felt unstoppable, about the people that fought against them anyway, and about how fascism always fails. dansinker.com/posts/202…

More tales from the world of Pelagia. This is the start of an ongoing actual-play using the beautiful TTRPG Wickedness. If that sounds interesting to you, I'd be eager to have you along!

The first few installments will be out by the end of the day with more to follow.

For your consideration - a little human interest story teased from between the folds of some giant stories set in my DnD world, with clues to how it is woven into that tapestry. I don't know if I'll expand it much more than this, but I really had fun writing this today and felt like sharing. 😊

Wtf I actually can’t believe it isn’t going without saying for some of you that the Harkonnen were not the folks to aspire to in the parable of Dune.

I so often find myself at a loss how to express and not impress the agony of my community - share in its pain but uplift it in process.

Yesterday three boys jeered something rude in Hindi at me. I smiled and waved at them. They smiled shyly and waved back. We broke the spell of Other like a twig.

2:30am in Dehli. Reunited at long last. Family brain textures poll: chunky applesauce, airplane alfredo ravioli, very small rabid weasels, fizzy seafoam, unspecified gas. Bring to 28.6°N (77.2°E) and simmer on low for 13 days.

Of all the forges I’ve assembled this one has fought me the most for control. Certainly it’s had the most complex set of psychosocial/environmental variables but a forced air brickpile is a hair(dryer)’s brea(d)th from a campfire. 🤷‍♀️ Only took a YEAR to dial it in, just in time to return to the US 🤦‍♀️

I'm exhausted by all the people out there who are trying to prove they're each the most cynical world-weary disillusioned person who's not gonna ever do a fucking thing ever except dump on everything and expect to be admired for that. Wrote about that in 2016:

I feel like I’m tunneling up into myself this week getting ready to travel into so many major unknowns. My ego feels dizzy/tender with a kind of liquifying compression. Feel like I’m wearing my heart like a sleeping bag, hopping around Lowly Worm style, bein reckless in goose down on main. 🪿

I have just watched Severance up to s2e2 and there is some part of me that has never forgiven the portion of my life lost to Lost that is so so mad right now y’all, I’m probably gonna have to call it quits here or idk what she’ll do to me - probably a lot of punitive yoga.

I sleep in a mosquito net, but i keep waking up with bites, and that has led to a certain degree of paranoia, so I can’t tell you what a relief it is to wake up and find a praying mantis as long as my hand in here this morning that wasn’t last night - I’m not the problem, it’s bigger than me.

I just watched a potter wasp Cask of Amontillado a twitching caterpillar into her nest as perfunctorily as a sleeping bag into a stuff sack. The more I learn about wasps, the more certain I become that the Alien franchise is just a long “what if wasps were big” thought experiment.
