Before being arrested, NYC Comptroller @bradlander.bsky.social spoke about why he came to protest today at 26 Federal Plaza:

"We are subjecting [immigrants] to violence and terror and then holding them behind the doors of this duct taped, wire-tied building."

Honored that @rbreich.bsky.social shared my story highlighting the plight of undocumented ground zero workers

They deserve to be given a pathway to citizenship.

Instead they are living in fear of deportation

Thousands of undocumented immigrant workers helped rebuild New York City in the wake of 9/11.

24 years later, they're at risk of deportation as they still struggle with chronic health issues.

A pathway to citizenship is the least these workers deserve. documentedny.com/2025/09/11/u...
They Helped Rebuild After 9/11. Now They Live in Fear of Deportation.
Nearly 25 years after clearing rubble at ground zero, undocumented workers could gain a pathway to citizenship with a bill from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez being reintroduced today.

It’s hard to believe it’s been 24 years today. And still the survivors and responders suffer. They shouldn’t have to also live in fear of the actions of this regime.

Undoc “first responders and volunteers risked their lives to help our city rebuild during one of our nation’s darkest days,” said Rep. @aoc.bsky.social. “Yet, our country has virtually abandoned them as they struggle w/the health impact of asbestos exposures and other related trauma and injury.”

Every day, immigrants help keep America running. Like those who rebuilt after 9/11, they deserve protection—not fear of deportation.

“This administration is bringing back all the trauma I experienced after 9/11... I can be detained and deported.” #NeverForget
