Instead of being thanked for helping to protect a community, firefighter Rigoberto Hernandez was detained by ICE for nearly a month. This is how our current immigration system treats those who risk their lives for their communities. And this is why we demand change.

For generations, people have had to fight for the right to vote. Communities have risked everything so more of us could have a say in our democracy.

Becoming a U.S. citizen means you get to carry that torch forward. Your voice matters. #NaturalizeNow, & make it count. @npnewamericans

We’ve said it before, and we’ll keep saying it: we must create more legal pathways for people in the U.S. to fix their status—and create an immigration system that welcomes people in a humane, just, and orderly way.

Sending people back to Syria and Venezuela who fled dangerous conditions there is cruel, racist & anti-Islamic. Temporary Protected Status holders have lived here for years and contribute millions to our economy. TPS must be extended for all countries.

The Supreme Court’s Sep 8 ruling gave ICE more power to stop and harass people who look and sound like everyday working people.

But we have power too!🤳🏽We can record every encounter with ICE or federal agents and show that this is clearly racial profiling.

The Supreme Court’s ruling unleashes law enforcement to harass and violently attack people just because they are Black, brown, or AAPI, speak other languages, and happen to work in a low-wage job. This is a direct attack on SEIU members. We won’t back down.
