Congratulations to the gig drivers who fought for years to win the right to form a union. You did that! This is the power every single worker holds when we join together to demand dignity and respect. When we fight, we win!

BREAKING: Gig drivers WON. Governor GavinNewsom just signed #AB1340 into law – giving 800,000+ drivers the right to form a union and bargain with Uber & Lyft. Worker power made this victory happen.💜

Americans want sensible and humane ways to keep our communities safe, not military-style raids carried out in the middle of the night while women and children are asleep on a school night.

Black and Brown school-age children were zip-tied and dragged out of bed in the middle of the night. Americans should be outraged. ICE and this administration's immigration actions against American families have gone too far, and they must end now. chicago.suntimes.com/immigration/...
Massive immigration raid on Chicago apartment building leaves residents reeling: 'I feel defeated'

An 11yo U.S. citizen recovering from a brain tumor was sent to Mexico with her siblings after their parents were deported. Her 18yo brother, still in Texas, now sends her lifesaving medicine. This is the toll mass deportations take on American children. www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/...

🚨We need YOU to unite with Black, brown, & AAPI workers who are taking to the streets against this MAGA regime that cuts services for us, but funds raids & tax breaks for billionaires!

I’ll join workers on Oct 18th to say #NoKings, here’s how you can too: seiu.co/OCT18

No parent should have to plan who will raise their child if they're deported. But 4 million American families with mixed immigration status are forced to. We need real solutions—a path to citizenship that keeps families together and strengthens our economy.

Fearing deportation, families with mixed immigration status make emergency plans
More than 4 million U.S. families have mixed immigration status. As the Trump administration continues to ramp up deportations, many of these families are preparing emergency plans.

If ICE can detain a U.S. citizen and Army veteran like George Retes, no one is safe. As a union we know that when one community is targeted, we must make them answer to all of us. www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/open...

BREAKING: Starbucks workers in Seattle are participating in a practice picket outside of the Starbucks Roastery, the company's flagship store.

Starbucks is still failing to finalize fair union contracts. Baristas don't want to strike... but if they have to, they're ready. ✊🔥

Mass deportations don’t open up more jobs for U.S.-born workers — they cause American workers to lose jobs, wages to go down, and our economy to slow.

Sending people back to Syria and Venezuela who fled dangerous conditions there is cruel, racist & anti-Islamic. Temporary Protected Status holders have lived here for years and contribute millions to our economy. TPS must be extended for all countries.

Immigrant workers risk their lives and help rebuild after disasters. They deserve a path to citizenship, not fear.

The Supreme Court’s Sep 8 ruling gave ICE more power to stop and harass people who look and sound like everyday working people.

But we have power too!🤳🏽We can record every encounter with ICE or federal agents and show that this is clearly racial profiling.

The largest single-site raid of Trump’s second term was described as a war zone. Workers were terrorized. Some feared for their lives, and even those with work permits were detained. When families fear work or school, communities and the economy suffer. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

The Supreme Court’s decision allowing ICE to stop people based on “reasonable suspicion” (aka racial profiling!) will affect all of us, whether we are U.S. citizens or not.

This week the U.S. Supreme Court issued a decision that clears the way for racial profiling during immigration raids and sweeps.
