Just so you so know, I plan to use this space much as I did the other one i.e. when I post, I'm often just trying to put my own thoughts in order. If you find that interesting or useful, that's great; if not, that's also great. I'm not here to chase engagement.

I wouldn't be quite so dismissive. She is playing a different game, one of sniffing out money and opportunities. She knows what to say and to whom. She has probably overreached with Macron and that may be her downfall but she's not unintelligent.

Blackwashing bigoted/racist ideas is very lucrative.

That was while there was a viable centre-right alternative. Currently there's just a quite a lot of homeless ex-Tory voters looking for an alternative and no party even trying to pitch for them. Possibly Labour but that probably poses rather more internal difficulties than it might do for LDs.

They radicalised the Tory base with a constant stream of scare stories about “wokeness,” “gender ideology,” “CRT”, and "Cultural Marxism."

Reform didn’t need to win hearts. The Tories did that for them.
