Do not expect Amtrak to protect you as a vulnerable person, whether that's as an employee or a customer. They will throw you under the Trump Bus and say it's for your own good.
Sustainability, culture (what was left of DEI), procurement, government affairs, and communications teams were all hit especially hard. A crushing RIF for the future of train travel, and employee morale.

All remaining DEI measures were pretty much eliminated. Supplier diversity team was axed, the culture team was eliminated (with some employees moved to other teams). Really disappointing but not surprising given Amtrak's previous DEI changes.

On an Amtrak train from Philly-DC. As usual it’s completely packed. People really like taking trains in the Northeast US. If the infrastructure could handle it there could be so many more.

Leadership is telling Amtrak employees their target for layoffs is 25%. I've now heard this from half a dozen sources. This will devastate Amtrak's ability to function effectively.

Looks like anti-sexual harassment and anti-bias training has been pulled from most or all Amtrak employee training requirements. It's a good time to be a sexual harasser in America.
