Yesterday, I watched the movie Back to the Future in a theater. A re-release showing for its 40th anniversary. The movie, it still works. In my opinion, it remains watchable and entertaining.

I raked up another big bag full of fallen leaves. I wore myself out doing it. I plan to take the leaves to the leaf drop-off location in Castle Rock so they can be recycled. It keeps leaves out of my trash, and out of the landfill.

Four pots of happily blooming geraniums, with orange or pink flowers. I transplanted them from the heavy planters on the front porch into smaller, moveable pots so that I can save them from the forecasted upcoming freeze. These geraniums are going to live inside my sunroom for the winter.

I took a walk this afternoon, around 2 miles roundtrip. The weather was pleasant and sunny, so it was relaxing to be outside. Plus, I also got myself some good exercise.

I loved One Battle After Another’s ending on first viewing, but the second time around I realized *how much* is going on in that scene beyond it being a really great car chase. So I had to write something about the brilliance of The River of Hills
The River of Hills: ‘One Battle After Another’ and the Best Ending of 2025

View featuring yellow and orange aspen trees. Fall color along US 160 on Wolf Creek Pass in southwest Colorado. I took this photo on October 4.

Bright rainbow above town of Silverton, in southwest Colorado. I took this photo while it was lightly raining on October 3. There are yellow aspen leaves in the background. My photo shows the Triangle Motel on right side of the wet street.

The vet's office gave me the teeth they extracted from my cat Lysander's mouth. I saw the number of teeth they took out. I got a $$$ bill.
I added the cat teeth to the red pill bottle containing his cat teeth from his previous major dental procedure. It's weird that I possess a bottle of cat teeth.

My black cat, Lysander, had a dental procedure with tooth extractions on Monday. He seems to be recovering ok. I'll give him another gabapentin this evening. Lysander walked around the house, visited the sunroom, and did some typical cat napping today.

Last night I started reading a book at bedtime, a trade paperback edition of Alien Clay by Adrian Tchaikovsky. I was tired, so I only read a chapter. I began reading something new.

Yesterday my black cat, Lysander, had a dental at the vet. They extracted most of the teeth he had left after a previous dental procedure some years ago. Poor kitty.

Theda Bara delivers her signature line in A FOOL THERE WAS (1915). Often misquoted as "Kiss me, you fool," the line's fame outlasted both Bara and the film.

The winds calmed; temperature was around 50°F. Good enough weather to rake up a 33-gallon bag full of leaves in the backyard. Filling one bag is a reasonably sized task for me to do. I don't want to overdo it and hurt my back. There are plenty more fallen leaves in the backyard.

The Carrington Event occurred on September 1–2, 1859. Over a 166 years ago.

The Carrington Event was a geomagnetic storm of extreme intensity, significantly more intense than even the most extreme G5 storms recorded in modern times, potentially 8-10 times stronger than a G5 event.

I was considering raking up fallen leaves in my backyard, but then the wind started blowing and there were some strong gusts of wind. Raking leaves when it's windy is more of a chore. The accumulation of leaves in my backyard can wait until a calmer day to be raked.

Tonight, there's a Frost Advisory for the Denver area. I shoved my large, heavy planters containing geraniums that are on the front porch against the house to give them some protection from the cold. Probably there won't be a freeze tonight, but temperatures could drop to the mid 30s°F.

Train on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad arriving in Silverton, in southwest Colorado. I took this photo of the train when it was approaching the old depot, where the train no longer stops, on September 29. I waved to the passengers aboard the train and many of them waved back to me.

Last week I saw in the theaters the movie, One Battle After Another. I strongly recommend it. I liked Rottentomatoes' short description:

One Battle After Another
When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunite to rescue the daughter of one of their own.

I saw in a theater the movie, One Battle After Another. It's an action movie, political thriller, with twists and dark humor starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn. It features ex revolutionaries trying to rescue a teen from a former nemesis of theirs. It's long but kept me watching. Recommended!

Today my neighbor who has eyesight issues due to macular degeneration asked me to take her to a doctor's appointment. I agreed to drive her there and back.

I brought along my Kindle device. I got a good amount of reading done while sitting in the waiting room. I'll finish this fantasy book soon.
