Hello!

I am Ana, had a bluesky account for a year, but only started using it this week!

I work in energy, and study environmental policy.

I post about climate, finance, degrowth and renewable energy, and I sometimes write #bookreviews, mostly on new radical climate or politics publications.

"Debt is quietly undoing decades of progress. Right now, at least 1 in 3 developing countries are spending more on interest payments than on health care or education."
@noahlawmp.bsky.social on the urgent need for a debt justice law

Time for a rally in global debt reform
Opinion: U.K. parliamentarian Noah Law argues that money going to debt servicing is keeping low-income countries from taking care of their citizens.

The 2025 ISEE Degrowth conference in Oslo just started.

I will be here presenting my work on the (lack of) neutrality in the IPCC at session RS 2.6.1: Global alliances for just and sustainable futures on Wednesday at 13:30.

Would love to connect if you are around! :)

Well... demand reduction for sure! but degrowth is a "planned and democratic reduction of production and consumption in rich countries to lower environmental pressures and inequalities" as per @timparrique.bsky.social
not sure what he is doing is well planned, democratic, or reducing inequality :(

And this is only becoming worse after Brexit. Studying in Scotland used to be free for EU students, making it a (slightly more) diverse uni. Now scottish students find themselves among the economic elite...

Of course Aaron! Did not know you were on here!

And point 8 on "deciding" on the USD 250bn to replace the USD 100bn is broadening sources, from mobilising private, to including private. And from developed countries being responsible to calling on other parties and south-south cooperation...

A lot of watering down happening...

If you are trying to understand the NCQG check out Simon's style guide. "Calls on" is only an invitation, and it is also the weakest form of invitation...

Las donaciones voluntarias por la DANA están genial, pero no solucionan los problemas más graves de los afectados; eso sólo se logra con ayudas públicas cuantiosas. Lo público salva al pueblo!
