Just filed my last story from a crazy week, the unofficial end of a wild year. It’s a true privilege to do this for my job and I thank every single one of you and all my colleagues for helping it happen. Next year is going to be insane and I can’t wait to report on it with and/or for you.

Seeing the Chicago Fire forced to play their playoff game back at Bridgeview got me wondering when the last time they played a playoff game at Soldier Field was.

It has been almost exactly 20 years! October 21, 2005. Chicago 0-0 DC United. Check out these lineups and LET'S. REMEMBER. SOME. GUYS.

I don’t have a pick for the U.S. Open Cup final but I do have this picture of a mural at a Wall St taco shop that looks an awful lot like Hany Mukhtar.

This is my first time seeing soccer played here since they installed the new mondo-sized video board and I gotta say…it’s pretty distracting.

An interesting thing about Citi Field is that the Kansas City Royals won Game 5 of the 2015 World Series here almost 10 years ago, sealing their status as champions in the annals of history forever.

Also Messi plays here tonight.

A 64-team men's World Cup is marginally better than a 48-team men's World Cup purely because it eliminates the need for third-place teams to make the knockouts. www.theguardian.com/football/202...
