I think I’m good with my dice collection for now; what I need is to find a way to use them :)
In the meantime though, it’s made me happy to slowly build it up. Here’s all the d12, my favorite shape of them all. Not a great picture bc it’s tough to photograph, it turns out!
A collection of 12 D12, each coming from a different set of dice, each showing a different digit from 1 to 12. Most notably there are 3 bigger dice, an ornate black&white, a black die with orange numbers & Halloween themed decorations, and a green marbled shiny one with gold numbers & deco.

I think Arsène has lost some weight recently (bc we burn more calories in a 14°C house?) and I’m fascinated that he manages to look at the same time like a lil old man cat and also kittenish 😍

Second mend on the older coat, this time on the linen lining at the cuff, using the same underlay in grey wool fabric but not attempting to make it pretty or discreet. I like the look regardless (and it’s inside). That lining sure needs washed though!
Same black boiled wool coat. The inside of a cuff showing the undyed linen lining and the big hole I mended by crudely stitching in a grey wool piece under the hole with black cotton thread. There are many visible stitches as a result.

I have a previous/older big wool coat, much longer & warmer, but it doesn’t close anymore cos I put on weight. It also has moth holes I *finally* started mending tonight, bc I rescued wool fabric from v old dead pants. Mending makes me happy.

Arsène was never going to be a lap cat but as he ages & becomes more clingy & needy he now requires me to lend him my right hand to curl around at least an hour a day.
That’s sweet, but suboptimal for me :(

This is now one of favorite still lives ever. A large painting by Suzanne Valadon of a naked woman lying on a leopard skin rug next to a blue vase with pink flowers. It immediately reminded me of Courbet’s “origin of the world” though it’s closer to his painting “la bacchante”. Stunning. “Two sisters”, a painting by Suzanne Valadon showing two women sat on a loveseat in short chemises, one blue, one yellow, showing their legs. One of them is looking at the viewer and appears rather butch. The whole painting is wonderful and looks queer to me. Another rather queer painting by Suzanne Valadon: supposedly showing a hieratic woman draped in a colorful textile but the model was probably her much younger husband and looks very androgynous. There’s a dog sleeping on the textile at the bottom. Everything is in rusty, automnal colors, the background just more muted than the draped model
