#Comics folks, I need you to pull up to this one.

The world sucks right now, and we have the opportunity to do a little bit of good for a displaced and marginalized member of our community. Please join me in supporting this KS campaign!

www.kickstarter.com/projects/den...
If you're somebody who values supporting marginalized voices in comics, here's your chance to put your money where your values are!

The writer of this RINGO NOM’D INDIE COMIC (and a very dear friend of mine) is a Syrian Refugee who has been through more continuous hardships than I have space to list here; constantly navigating visa applications, unstable living conditions, predatory landlords (limited options as a refugee).

Anas just wants to make comics and live a normal life like what so many of us take for granted. Backing this campaign will help Anas to take the next step toward freedom and autonomy, helping to fund a move to another country with more stable employment options. This is truly one of the most important comics purchases you will ever make.

Middle Eastern and North African comics creators are some of the most underrepresented in the comics industry of the western world. Anas isn’t running a GoFundMe to support this move, and is not asking for charity. Simply, Anas is using their talent for storytelling, along with Dennis’ gorgeous art, to offer you a beautiful experience in the comics medium, that also goes toward funding a better life for Anas.

I’m so proud of Anas, and humbled by their experiences and perseverance. I would like to see Anas’ Dream realized, and I’d love to see this community help to make that happen. Please join me in pledging to the Etheres Kickstarter campaign! (link below). Etheres cover B

Day 8 (Leaf) for #peachtober25

I decided to draw a cute little round wizard frog holding a leaf and hopping around! I love how Kirby-fied he looks and will absolutely be drawing him again in the near future! 🐸🌈🌱✨

A very round wizard frog with star spots running and holding a large leaf. Overhead is a shooting star with a rainbow tail and there are several stars and sparkles around the frog and leaf.

My first date with my now husband happened because of flirting on twitter.

Most of my business was built via word-of-mouth from twitter, instagram, and now bluesky.

My understanding of feminism, politics, LGBTQIA+ issues, all developed through participating in various social media conversations.

They are placed on a yellow-orange gradient.

Trying to decide if it’s ominous to discover a large murder of crows assembled in the woods near my house?
They were yelling pretty intensely about something for a long while this morning…

“We don’t have to approach and criticize this album as art, because it isn’t art. The Life of a Showgirl is made of Shein quality rip-offs of other people’s songs that are constructed shoddily and sold in ginormous quantities. Art takes time and care. This is profit. It’s content.”

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

related, when the president is invading our own country, waging war on our own people, i don't wanna see dems give the GOP shit they ask for, don't wanna hear shit bout 'we hope our friends across the aisle will work with us on bipartisan solutions to the problems they cause' i don't want none of it
grudgie.bsky.social
Look. Invading our own country is about as straightforward a case as you can have for impeachment. The GOP abandoning the Constitution is kind of the only story there is and it gets no coverage.

Guys. I just had a crazy idea. What if the President DIDN’T deploy troops in American cities. Just a thought. Have we tried that before?

still thinking about this ask I got yesterday. you have to make things for yourself and the random internet stranger who will go crazy for it
anon ask: Hello,

I just wanted to say thank you for making a lifelong dream come true with your unofficial continuation of Carmilla.

As an avid reader of any additional works I can get my hands on, yours did not disappoint! Long have I wanted a sequel titled Laura (along with a prequel titled Mircalla) and I loved everything about what you created — not only did you keep to the Gothic tone of the story, but you also touched on the most poignant and vulnerable themes the novella leaves unexplored such as Laura’s grief and complex feelings about Carmilla. I found your art style to be simply beautiful, and the choice of the black and white color palette with splashes of red was genius.

This is definitely one of my favourite works out there and I would without a doubt love to read anything else you might make within the canon should the opportunity ever arise in the future.

Thank you again for this visual and visceral delight.

answer: Thank you so much for your very kind words!! I wrote Laura to be able to be enjoyed by anyone, but when fellow fans of Carmilla specifically let me know they liked it it means the world to me :') I'm really happy you enjoyed it!
