Even if there's no background, using a grid makes even a standalone figures pose look more natural/solid.

This is why I got into drawing with grids. Draw grids to place figures in landscapes and have them be in perspective with it and other figures who inhabit it. Have them feel natural standing/walking/sitting within it. Ground them once awhile between the talking heads. It's a lot of practice tho.

The Beat, AIPT and BleedingCool would probably be amenable to comics news. Also, try Publishers Weekly and Library Journal. They cover lots of comics stuff now & have a wide reach.

I could see Canada getting these. If not, the import spots will be full of em.
