Hello Bluesky! Let's start off with my Five Senses Series, where each sense is represented by a member of a fantasy species. In order, here we have Smell (orc), Sight (dwarf), Hearing (elf), Taste (gnome)...

Calling all artists! How do you draw elves?

I draw them as carnivorous little buggers who live in troops, hunt a wide variety of quarries (including man, for sport AND food...) and spend their free time napping in the sun.

Sketches for Princess Daisy's mom, the Empress of Sarasaland. I might have gone a little overboard, but it was fun to draw the costumes of this many Portuguese and Spanish queens. And Vic, of course. Adding the daisy motif to 16th-17th c. dress was surprisingly easy.

For whatever reason, every time I read "icymi" I read it as like, a latin acronym like SPQR before I remember it means "in case you missed it". Isn't there a tribe of iron age britons called the Icymi or something along those lines? Also, excellent helmet

𝔊𝔬𝔟𝔩𝔦𝔫 ℌ𝔦𝔩𝔩 | A colorized delineation showing house, garden, and grounds. Local stone, agate green stucco, & cedar.
Text: Goblin Hill

Image: a perspective drawing of a long low rambling residence built in the prairie style. It is perched on a hilltop in rural Wisconsin and built of stone, stucco, and cedar. The house is wrapped around a hilltop on three sides, terminating in a short tower. The broad roof shelters many windows, porches, and enclosed balconies.

friend challenged me into Tolkien-themed inktober, but I am to lazy to follow other themes so I'm just drawing Bilbo ♥

Tom Bombadil and hobbits in Barrow-downs ♥
I am not used to such formats(A3), but in the end it was fun to draw Hobbits in fancy jewels ♥

More Denham Tracts. The most interesting thing about this list of fairies is that we don't know what a lot of the names on it refer to. The creatures that have known folklore behind them, I've drawn in warm colors. The names we can only speculate about, I've drawn in cool colors.

More SNES + GB era ads. Here we learn that Wario loves nutting on TV and Donkey Kong has some big hairy deals, one of which ends with you wearing his shirt.

More sketches. I realized I was unconsciously making the parents too old-looking when I drew baby Wario in his mom's arms. In the final image, Frogfucius is performing I Ching divination, a type of Chinese numerical fortune-telling done by sorting yarrow stalks.

Working on these pieces, I curated a collection of Mario ads, almost all of which I found by combing the vast archives of the one and only @mariobrothblog.bsky.social. Here is a short thread of some of my favorites—I'll post a handful each day this week as I post the sketches.

Close-ups of the little assets I made for the ads. Should I have spent so much time making a fake version of the Rare logo with my name on it just to pixellate and halftone it to hell? Probably not. Did I have fun doing it? Yes.

So Nintendo just released a short about babies hmm? And the baby has Rosalina's hair and color scheme hmm? You didn't believe me, but I told you. Yoshi's Teething with Rage is coming to Switch 2.

I was cleaning out my basement and I found a gaming magazine in an old birdcage. It had this ad for an unreleased GameCube game starring Yoshi and the Mario babies, which is pretty cool. I wonder why it was never released.

Quick concept sketch of one of the main threats in the D&D game I'm in.

A mass produced descendant of Baldur's Gate 3 's Steel Watchers, relying on more easily manufactured necro-fuel than it's predecessor's illithid puppeteering.
A line up of robots based on constables.

Far left top: Two head concepts, one dark and bathed in harsh red n' blue light, the other brass and showing off the head lamp.

Far Left: Green and stouter Constable robot.
Center Left: Blue and tall Constable robot.
Center Right: Steel and tall and broad Constable Robot

Right: Skeletal insides of the Constable robot. The tall head contains six cameras and a head lamp. Green intestinal areas flow with necrotic fuel.

I found another issue of the same magazine that had half the pages ripped out to wrap Christmas ornaments with. Apparently that Yoshi game had a Game Boy Advance companion piece. I get why this one went unreleased. I don't think people want to play an "irreconcilable differences" simulator.

Grunt enemy from young Josue’s favorite SNES cousin-game, Hallowed Nights: Curse of the Ringmaster.
Frank-Kap, a small grunt enemy from World 1 (Graveyard) that appears to be a bipedal, one-eyed cerebellum hiding under the scalp of some of reanimated creature. The flavor text reads: Discarded Byproducts of failed experiments. they waddle around the graveyard looking for an unsuspecting host to seize.‬ Quote: “Excuse me, is this seat taken?”
