Buster Posey said he spoke to Bruce Bochy and told him that he doesn’t view him as a managerial candidate given the direction they want to go, but there will always be a role for him with the Giants if he wants it.

The only modern-game players to score 150+ pre-WWII is pretty selective and impressive, too: Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig (twice), Jimmie Foxx, Chuck Klein, Al Simmons, Woody English, Kiki Cuyler, Rogers Hornsby, Lefty O'Doul and Babe Ruth (six times, haha).

List of players to score 150+ runs in a season, post WWII:

1949 Ted Williams, 150
2000 Jeff Bagwell, 152
2025 Shohei Ohtani? (141 with 7+ to play)

Here's a gallery of the all-time leaders in winning percentage. Yeah, Clayton Kershaw is a little bit of a throwback.

Oh no. If it had to be airport themed, they had so many better options. Ontario Surly Gate Agents. Ontario Rental Car Shuttles. Ontario $15 Coors Lights. Ontario Lost Luggage. "The Lugs."

Probably hold off ordering that Bryce Eldridge No.78 Giants jersey. Clubhouse manager Brad Grems is planning to issue Eldridge a more standard, less offensive lineman-type energy number next spring.

Bryce Eldridge met with reporters in the dugout in his stocking feet. He literally has no shoes because his bag was already loaded on a flight from OKC to Sacramento when he got news of his promotion. They’re bringing some of his stuff that was still at the Papago complex (including size 14 cleats).

The Giants announced the Bryce Eldridge promotion. Luis Matos was optioned and Brett Wisely was DFAd. Eldridge will wear No.78.

The only other time before today that Clayton Kershaw walked four in this ballpark was 15 years ago. Matt Cain took a shutout into the eighth to outduel him on Aug. 1, 2010. Today, Kershaw has walked four of the first 14 batters he's faced.

Clayton Kershaw entered with a 1.69 ERA in close to 200 career innings in San Francisco. He'd given up as many as four runs in just two of 28 career starts, and none since 2018. The Giants just hung a 4-spot on him in the first inning.

Patrick Bailey career walk-off home runs: 4
Buster Posey career walk-off home runs: 3

Patrick Bailey's walk-off grand slam was his first home run in more than two years while batting right-handed. Can't make this stuff up.

Today for @baseballprospectus.com I wrote about one of my hobby horses: the long, drawn-out death of catcher framing. MLB’s buffer zone adjustment this spring was supposed to take another bite out of catcher value, and it did — except for one dude.

Thank you Mike, glad you enjoyed it.

Posted earlier today: Patrick Bailey, by himself, has accounted for nearly 19 percent of all net positive framing runs saved in MLB this season. That's ... incredible. He also goes through catcher's mitts as fast as you (probably) go through a roll of toilet paper. www.nytimes.com/athletic/662...

Pulling borderline pitches into the strike zone causes the Giants' Gold Glove catcher to burn through catcher's mitts throughout the season.

Matt Chapman successfully appealed his one-game suspension. MLB dropped the penalty as part of a settlement agreement, the Giants said. Chapman will pay a fine and be in the lineup tonight vs. the Dodgers.
