Took a free ride on the REM from the Du Ruisseau (on the new Deux-Montagnes branch), through downtown Montreal, to the South Shore and back again. A very nice ride and I even got a model train! The line properly opens on Monday, when you'll have to pay (and won't get a cardboard model). #trains

What a fun game. Coincidentally, a few weeks ago someone at Google asked me via Researchgate, for a reprint of the first paper, listed below. I have not obliged.

Two Cicadas mating.I spotted one of them on the ground. Believing that it was damaged, I picked it up with a stick to discover it attached to his/her partner. I don't think they noticed. #naturephotogaphy #insects #cicadas

I met some kind of Lygus on my walk today. A tarnished plant bug?

1st paddle on the Magog in 2025. Bright sunshine and comparatively strong currents due to the recent rain. I saw quite a few animals (including human beings) and managed to snap a Marmot, a Muskrat (from behind) and an Eastern Kingbird. A good morning.

within a few minutes, I saw all these guys. The bird lost in foliage, is a Black Crowned Night Heron, but I couldn't maneuver the kayak into a clear-line-of-sight position. The Osprey wasn't shy though.

It's been a tiring week, and the news is unusually depressing, so I thought I would look through some of my photos from the last paddling season. This is a view on the Magog river looking towards the Rock Forest barrage, not so far from le 3iT. Nice early morning vibe.

Matt, as is often the case, is spot on.

Green Heron in fishing mode on the river Magog in September 2023. He managed to catch a fish, drop it, and snatch it back. Too bad my camera, and reactions, were too slow to capture that.

The same individual a few minutes later after it had flown downstream and stopped in another tree. Fantastic eyes.

An osprey in my favorite tree on the river Magog, in Sherbrooke, QC. It's my favorite because it's so popular with the birds. Early September 2021.

To be fair to the BBC, their International News app, which I use here in Canada, is more closely aligned with Reithian values.
