Not enough attention given to this off-the-cuff remark.
Trump just said the quiet part out loud: if America’s at war, he thinks elections should be canceled. That’s not a “joke.” That’s dictatorship in plain English. Our democracy isn’t suspended at his convenience.

$1.6B already gifted, yet on any realistic analysis the US will be unable to transfer 3 Virginia subs to our Navy. Given the US DoD #AUKUS review, and the widening gaps between US and Australian policy, the further planned non-refundable payments of $3.7B must be stopped. #auspol

One of the Liberal party’s two surviving inner-metropolitan MPs has warned voters see the Coalition as unserious on climate change, suggesting the opposition could lose more seats to Labor if it opposes policies for net zero by 2050.

The man who wrote the history of tax reform in Australia has called out the “confected outrage” surrounding Labor’s plan to trim concessions for wealthy Australians with super balances over $3m.
Paul Tilley, the author of Changing Fortunes and a former senior Treasury official, said it was “well understood” that there were equity issues within the super system that needed to be addressed.
