I think they've nailed the sensor part, mine is okay. But calorie stats versus DEVOURING VOID are always a bit wonky. Staring at calorie stats more than vaguely is a way back to the Bad Place

(For me ebike is easy and it thinks hard; mildly aerobic trundling doesn't work up a thirst!)
