Most leaders in smaller tech orgs just… don’t. They often are promoted through technical skill and then assume having leadership over technology is the same skill as leadership over people and products. It just isn’t 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m running with something at the moment in my work life where I think more people ought to take some time to read textbooks on their job. Like with most non-fiction, you don’t have to *agree* but you at least have a theoretical understanding of what your role is.

Watching Jay, I realize I am simply exhausted by folks in positions of leadership who are driven to distraction by critique.

If you can't function with critique and pushback, a leadership position is not for you.

Leadership REQUIRES you to absorb and process the critique of stakeholders.
