Glaswegian idiot
Client journalism of the most embarrassing order. Other parties, charities and various other organisations have been pushing this for many years before Sarwar and Labour decided it was politically expedient.

Would be as far from a Rachel Reeves fan as it’s possible to be, but Badenoch is just a properly horrible individual.
November 26, 2025 at 1:52 PM
Not sure Rachel Reeves goading the SNP about flinging some pocket money Scotland’s way looks as good as she thinks it does.

The thing with the Farage racism stuff is that it won’t lose him a single vote. Not one.

The Herald continuing to plummet into irrelevance. A publication now almost exclusively for angry old white guys who are scared of an evolving world.

I imagine these councillors will treat any feedback as optional, just like the pledge they signed to gain a new democratic mandate if they switched political party

If there’s a situation where you think “oh no, they wouldn’t actually go that far!” with this Labour government, let me tell you that they absolutely would. Cutting aid to the poorest people on the planet, helping to facilitate a genocide, now actively targeting asylum seekers and refugees.

More chance of me pinging a 30 yarder into the top bin at Hampden tomorrow night than there is of this happening.

Tantalisingly close to an important breakthrough
Shabana Mahmood asks MPs to stop mentioning Tommy Robinson's name (in relation to his support for her policies) as "he doesn't even think I am English. I find that offensive."

BBC can’t get enough of Queen’s Park. On House of Games and the next three games live on TV. Box office.

Immigration and asylum policies do not make people racist. Pandering to these people does embolden them, though. The United Kingdom is irredeemably fucked.
"I am the one that is regularly called a fucking Paki and told to go back home" says Shabana Mahmood.

"I wish it were possible to say that there isn't a problem here and... it's just extremist right wing talking points. But this system is broken, and it is... creating the division that we all see"

Nigel Farage may not be in government, but he’s most certainly in power. These cowards haven’t stopped dancing to his tune since they took office.
Shabana Mahmood on the BBC this morning talking about desperate people fleeing war and persecution as being given a "golden ticket" and "handouts" and saying she's got a "moral mission" to take them away from them

Shabana Mahmood and the Politics of Extortion
Labour's strategy of telling its supporters to back Reform-style policies, or get a Reform Government, is the politics of the protection racket and it is not going to work

Going to be hilarious when he loses his seat to Leanne Mohamad at the next election. A thoroughly, thoroughly unpleasant man.

A hilariously bad operation from top to bottom.
Blimey. Major new split in Your Party. Blackburn MP Adnan Hussain -who is secretary of the Your Party company - says he's quitting due to "persistent infighting, factional competition, and a struggle for power, position and influence rather than a shared commitment to the common good."

I don’t particularly like Andy Burnham, but he looks like the only one who can feasibly hold a lot of the seats in the north of England that Labour need. He needs a way into Westminster, though. Miliband couldn’t beat a wet wipe like Cameron, so he’s not going to beat a gutter dweller like Farage.
Verdict of one Labour grandee I just bumped into: “Ed Miliband is the person most likely to be the most next Prime Minister”.

Amendment defies logic. “New developments must only proceed if they meet a rigorous climate compatibility assessment and are compatible with Scotland's journey to net zero.” Drilling for new oil, by very definition, cannot do that. Extremely disappointing to see no pushback from any SNP MSPs.
The SNP's wrecking amendment to this motion has sadly passed, confirming that the Scottish Government no longer opposes the Rosebank oil field application. A huge step backwards and a sad day for Scotland's reputation on climate action.
Under Nicola Sturgeon & Humza Yousaf the Scottish Government rightly opposed the proposed Rosebank oil field.

John Swinney has sadly dropped that opposition and tried to avoid taking a position at all.

That's not good enough, so tomorrow the @scottishgreens.org will force a vote.

I know it’s not a fashionable opinion to defend the use of huge amounts of land for golf courses. However, cooncil golf is/was basically a different sport from posh golf. Been taken away, almost completely, from the working classes. It shouldn’t just be for folk with a few quid and tourists.

Generally been something I think the SNP has acted in good faith on, but until John Swinney is unequivocal about Rosebank then there are huge lingering questions over whether the environment and climate crisis has slipped way down the pecking order.
The Scottish Government has published its long-awaited Climate Change Draft Plan – setting out 150 different actions to tackle carbon emissions.

We have outlined the key points👇
