I need to update my post now that my oldest is headed off to college this fall, I'll have only 2 of my kids in public schools. The rest still tracks, my wife is awesome as ever and local politics continues to be the place where one can effect the most tangible changes.

I kinda like these intro posts, here goes mine. Basic bio: solo architect, biking & running enthusiast, 3 kids in public schools, married to the awesomest wife. November 2016 was radicalizing for me and got me involved in activism. That morphed over the years to a focus on effecting local politics.

These tariffs. We pay them for things we need; they’re a tax. Trump scoops them into a huge slush fund which he apparently can spend at will. He doesn’t have any oversight; he doesn’t provide exact figures; Congress has no role in deciding proper expenditure.

I'd really love some attempt at a quick build even if it has to be redone after utility work. It could inform a more robust system of protection, floating bus stops, etc. I drew the damn thing 3 years ago!

I still stand by this plan and am frustrated it's currently held up even though the City is trying to move it forward.

Rode the new and still in-progress Court Street protected bike lane and it’s already a thing of beauty. Makes such a difference on what used to be a very dangerous street for cycling.
