A Happy Thanksgiving Tale. A turkey hiding out at a ski lodge with friends. Where do you think a turkey would hide out?
This is the November illustration and story for my new 2026 calendar! So fun to make.

I have been really enjoying ripping the invasive blackberries out of our yard. I am scared to find out what this echidna is digging for. What do you dig in your yard for?

Are you ready for 2026? I know I'm not. How in the world is the present so far into the future? I don't think I understand time anymore. But don't let that stop you from getting my first-ever calendar: angelabcomics.storenvy.com/products/369...

I am rather excited to use my first-designed calendar next year. Which is a little ridiculous on my part because I already bought two wall calendars (from littleclyde Illustration) and am trying to decide which weekly/daily planner I want to get for 2026.

I try to stay organized with a calendar, but I typically start lagging in July and then return in October. I use the empty pages for notes the next year. 🫠 So I designed my own calendar. You can have one, too, maybe get a frog stamp on your birthday. angelabcomics.storenvy.com/products/369...
2026 Animal Women Calendar (5.5x8.5 inches) from Angela B Comics
Wonderful animal women adorn this 2026 calendar (January start). The illustrations were originally hand-drawn in ink and pen, then watercolored. 🖌️ A very short fiction accompanies each illustration. ...

Talk about a capsule wardrobe. 1600s sailors were rocking that look with 6 changes of clothes, just enough to give their clothes time to dry.

I learned from this embroidered watercolor map of Mauritius that a 12-inch square is too big to embroider comfortably. But it turned out so well! So this is probably the largest embroidered watercolor I will ever make.

Who doesn't love the lovely variegation of loose watercolors? This is a map of Mauritius, and I have embroidered only the waterways. I posted about the whole process here: magazine.angelabcomics.com/eye-candy/ma...

HAPPY FRIDAY! My first encounter with a bobcat after moving to the Sonoran Desert. Right outside my bedroom window. The dogs sat up & growled & I tried to move so slowly as I grabbed & focused my phone. It started to feel like we were the zoo animals behind glass as we were being studied. #Bobcat

Made a new autobio comic about making art with @dylanmeconis.bsky.social's five year old kid!

I also got a bit sentimental in the blog part because in the TWO DECADES I've been drawing Dylan in my comics, this is the first time I drew her as a mom 🥲

Let me clarify. My prompts were Firefly and otter for #inktober. Where is the Firefly you ask? Well, my shetland pony when I was a kid was named Firefly! So of course u had to use him as inspiration. He was a sweetheart.

I love reading usually but have not been able to make myself read much lately, despite a huge pile of library books. At least this adorable sloth still likes to read. #inktober for buttons + sloth

Wooot-woot! It's a party! Dancing the night away! Or even the afternoon. Another tough #inktober prompt: blast + Fox. So I went with having a blast! I love his little sweater.

Little pumpkin head is going to be caught in the crossfire it looks. That's a falcon zooming at a crow. Rivals + falcon for #inktober. But mostly I wanted to make this adorable pumpkin head. I even pulled out some rubber boots to draw from life! From at least 8 pairs. How many you got?

I adore this. The little face and the little frame. It's a yeti wearing a jacket (as human camo). My #inktober prompts were Arctic and tiger but boy was that not inspiring me. I kept going and somehow made my way here. I do so love cryptids. I almost did a tiger striped polar bear.

SLAP!! Unicorn can slap anyone. The prompt was deal and unicorn and all I could think was a handshake but that bored me. So I made this that you could stamp on photos! I'll find some photos to stamp. Who would you have the unicorn slap?

I have chalk ink pads that are fun. So I'm trying to get them to layer well. Here's an attempt. The prompt for my#inktober was ornate + koi. So koi pond! In this one, I used the grapefruit color for the koi.

I'm sure this joke has been done a million times but this is cracking me up. The little potted plants and the mailbox really cap it off for me. Blunder + turtle for #inktober . The shell is based on a box turtle.

Trunk and dragonfly for #inktober. I sketches a bunch of trunks and then ended up using it as inspiration for a folk art dragonfly. I used a different base (speedy carve). It is crumblier than the pink stuff (speedy cut). Softer, which is good for my wrists but less loving of detail.

Did you have a raggedy Ann doll as a kid? I inherited two, one very old and decrepit and the other newer. This prompt was ragged + antelope. The dik-dik is the cutest little antelope. And you can see in the sketches I didn't know what to do for ragged. I even drew up a quick "pattern."

You know, I suppose she needs a name. I'm thinking . . . Vazag. Vazgen is an Armenian name, possibly from Persian vazagh, meaning "frog, toad," combined with a diminutive suffix. According to Behind the Name.com, I love that site. Here she is after falling asleep in a chair reading Beatrix Potter.

Happy wolf with warm drink. There're a few things I would change on this where I carved away a little too much, but for the most part, I love it. What a happy face! Cup was based on a picture of a smoky machala chai, but I'd rather have hot cocoa. What warm drink would you hold in mittens? #inktober
