I'll leave my reviews in this thread! 🧵

Day 8- In The Tall Grass (2019)

I came in expecting "House of Leaves" but if it was actually made of plants, but ended it up with something similar-yet equally disturbing in it's own unique way. While it' a bit too long and some of the dialogue near the end is hokey, it's still an underrated gem!

Day 7- No One Will Save You (2023)

The biggest surprise thus far in my horror movie marathon! I absolutely love this film's choice to have minimal dialogue, as well as how creative and tense the alien chase scenes are! The ending is divisive, but I adore it's disturbing strangeness! Check it out!

This film is also extremely ACAB which is a plus!

Day 6- Intruder (1989)

A spectacular slasher with a good mix of likable characters who you want to live, and POS's you're glad to see get slashed. The camera work and gore are excellent, with some hokey acting and dialogue that actually enhances the film's charm, and an ending left me speechless!

Day 5- It Comes At Night (2017)

I should've loved this movie, but the characters were kinda generic. I've seen these exact dynamics in a dozen post apocalyptic settings. But the acting and cinematography elevates film a good bit, along with an absolutely harrowing ending that left me speechless.

Day 4- The Black Phone (2021)

WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO WATCH THIS! This film has the BEST child acting I have ever seen, especially Madeline McGraw as Gwen, super suspenseful moments (the padlock scene!!!), and terrifying implications on what else is on the other side of the titular Black Phone.

as a human being and especially as a reader "the book is there to serve me" is too many red flags for my brain to process at once

also, go into both movies as fresh as possible. marketing gives to much away imo.

Day Two- Companion (2025)

This movie manages to balance out different genres; Thriller in the first act, Dark Comedy in the second and pure Horror in the third, much better than some of it's contemporaries!

Highly recommend watching this as a double feature with Mimi Cave's "Fresh".

Day One: "Phantasm" 1979

The best way to describe this film is "Uncanny". From the Cinematography to the script, the editing to even the character logic. This film is 90 minutes of pure uncanny terror. 4/5 stars!
