Can we all just shout about how despicable it is to scapegoat migrants for everything? Can we just stop being too polite or shy about it? Can we condemn it at work, with friends, family, on SM, everywhere? Can we just not keep calm & carry on until it’s too late?

Here are some random exploratory plots for you - looks like women report better social support from family and friends than men regardless of marital status, while partnered men report better partner support than partnered women do

They erased the new Banksy mural in London. But the stain remains.
Side-by-side images of Banksy’s mural on the Royal Courts of Justice in London. On the left, the artwork appears faded and scrubbed, leaving only a ghostly outline of a judge raising a gavel over a protester holding a placard. On the right, the mural is fully visible in sharp black and white stencil, showing a judge in a traditional white wig and robes striking down at a protester who defends himself with a bloodied sign.

Hi Kevin,
What do you make of brain connectivity (white matter and brain activity) GWAS results that are enriched for terms associated with the immune response to infections? Noise or potentially interesting?
Thanks!

I read the word "endpoint" in the context of EWAS disease phenotypes today, and I think it's important to frame diseases in this way because it reminds you to think about everything upstream!

Genetic "optimization" of embryos appears to be becoming mainstream. The narrative currently is largely controlled by startups that range across the spectrum from hardcore snake-oil to well-intentioned & occasionally strong domain expertise. But these are not neutral parties. 1/

This is one of the best ideas I've heard in ages.
Reddit post on r/technology about young people and AI: "I recently heard about a teacher who instead of trying to circumvent students using AI, which is impossible, she made assignments by going "ask ChatGPT to write a report on this subject, and then research how and why it's wrong".

Not only did the students discover that ChatGPT is extremely wrong a lot of the time, it also lead them to realise that they should not use it as a primary source".

We don't have to push children into poverty.

We don't have to make life harder for the sick and disabled.

We don't have to aid and abet genocide.

For too long, people have been denied a real political choice. Not anymore.

27 people — including a priest, professor and health workers — were arrested today under terrorism laws.

Their crime? Peacefully holding signs opposing genocide.

This is how we sleepwalk into fascism.
