Beginning this Wednesday, December 24, the USPS will show the date your envelope is 1st processed by an automated USPS sorting machine, which might be later than the day you mailed it. This change means that First Class mail items might end up being postmarked a day or more after sent.

Christmas will always remind me of my dad; he loved this holiday. But Andy Williams singing Christmas Carols is 100% my mom.

I am ambivalent, it isn’t a religious holiday for me and there aren’t any kids in our family anymore who find excitement in presents. But I do love Christmas carols.

It’s a sad state in our country when I hear news that the potential Brown killer was found dead by suicide, that he was an immigrant, and that it was the federal authorities who found him, and my first thought is “Was this a setup of a guy to support this administrations hatred of immigrants?’

Local news anchor better hope that no little kids were up watching the news when he said, during a piece about Santa visiting Children’s Hospital, that Santa himself just had heart surgery at the area hospital. 😳

18 minutes of fluff…maybe it will go missing like the Watergate tapes 18 minutes!

Though not a grandma, I sure felt like one just now when I put a dress on that I haven’t worn since last winter, (probably to the theater), slipped my hand into the pocket and thought “what is this lump?”. Flip the pocket inside out and its an unwrapped Starlight Mint stuck in the fabric! #IAmOld

I woke up really sad this morning. Sad for my good friend from childhood who’s sister died over the weekend, sad for the families of the Brown students, sad for families at Bondi beach, sad for the world about the Reiners, and ultimately missing my parents.

Unintentionally had a strong Frankenstein week: Finished Anima Rising, Watched del Toro’s Frankenstein, read Love, Sex and Frankenstein. While not planned, it was interesting to connect the 3 iterations of the Frankenstein story.

100 years of the Rockettes. Did you know the Rockettes were actually founded not in New York, but rather in St. Louis Missouri?

Listening to Fresh Air to some guy talking about his top 10 films this year and not only have I never heard of any of them, nothing about his commentary is making me want to see them!

Another victim of the DOGE cuts to government funded programs; the Library here is ending their Hotspot loan program for areas without internet access.

I was today years old when I realized that 2 books my godmother gave me when I was like 4, were written by the wife of an Irish President.

What a legacy he left. I so enjoyed his Masterclass and then seeing so many of his incredible designs in person. Truly the most creative architect of my lifetime.

PBS is doing a fund raiser and while I am an ongoing supporter, whoever decided that they need to continuously run this weird music thing for the last 3 days needs to be reassigned for a while.

Maybe the headline should be Trump intends to create more Vets on Veterans Day 2025 as he starts a new war.
Breaking news: A U.S. aircraft carrier near Latin America has prompted Venezuela to place its entire military on high alert as speculation builds that the Trump administration intends to escalate its deadly counternarcotics campaign.
U.S. aircraft carrier nears Latin America as Venezuela orders mobilization
Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López said that Venezuela would put the entire country’s military arsenal at the ready, including militia and almost 200,000 soldiers.

The Spaghetti Nebula is gorgeous…
